Face to Face Counselling
In person, or face to face counselling can take place either at rooms in Kendal or at my home just outside Kendal. Both spaces are in a private and confidential setting and together we can start to explore those difficulties that you might be having, whether that’s with relationships, work, life-cycle, depression, loss, bereavement, anxiety or just a general sense of not knowing what life is about or where you’re going.
When we start counselling my main aim is to create an accepting and genuinely warm relationship between us that’s within a secure space. My experience tells me that when this happens clients find their way and make good choices that are right for them.
I’ll listen with attention and curiosity so that I can, over time start to stand in your shoes and see things as you see them. This might then lead to me being able to offer a shift in perspective. I can help you to look behind the obvious with openness and interest. In this way it’s possible for you to discover your own truth and inner resources, and to develop trust in your ability to meet future challenges in life. The space which I can offer allows you a freedom to explore thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
I will always offer a first meeting to help us discuss whether you want to start counselling with me and whether I am the best person to help you or whether another person would be better suited to you. We’ll discuss how counselling might help you and the issues which you might want to begin to talk about so that we can agree, between us, on a way of working.
Everything we discuss is completely confidential with total respect for your privacy and that of any other individuals discussed.
Each session will be 50 minutes long, to give time at the start, to settle in and at the end to be ready to move away.
So what's the first step?
